Girls Can Be Engineers Too

Presenter

Jamila H. Lindo

In 2019, Jamila graduated from Manhattan College with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with minors in Environmental Engineering and Religious Studies. She is currently pursuing a master’s in Construction Administration at Columbia University. Her work experience ranges from transportation engineering at STV, Inc. to Data Center Construction at Microsoft.
As a woman of color, Jamila believes she has a responsibility to encourage all children to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). In doing so, she recently self-published her first children’s book called, “Girls Can Be Engineers.” She has donated over 200 copies of the book to non-profit organizations, foster homes, and hospitals. She has also virtually visited a number of schools and girl scout troops to speak about STEM.
