COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Thirty local kids participated as Let’s Grow STEAMx hosted the River City Soap Box Derby Race Saturday afternoon at the Psalmond Road Recreation Center.

The race and the Let’s Grow STEAMx Racer Clinics leading up to the race use activities and games centered around science, technology, engineering arts, and mathematics (STEAM) as an outside-the-box learning experience for students grades four through 12.

Let’s Grow STEAMx is a community-based initiative dedicated to providing a free, competitive educational platform that focuses on helping students utilize their most abundant resource…their imagination as well as encouraging students to develop a love for life-long learning.

It all helps to prepare them for the River City Soap Box Derby.
