Dr. Stefan Lawrence

Born and raised in Columbus, GA Dr. Stefan Lawrence is a product of Muscogee County School District and is a double grad of Columbus State University. After graduating from Northside High School he signed a basketball scholarship with CSU. After his playing career was over Lawrence graduated with a 3.22 GPA and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Secondary Education. Upon graduating he immediately began working as an English teacher, basketball coach, and Advanced Placement Coordinator at G.W. Carver High School. During his 2nd year of teaching in 2012 Lawrence graduated from CSU again with a Master of Education degree in English/Secondary Education. Throughout his 8 year teacher career Lawrence accrued several accolades to include: 2016 MCSD Teacher of the Year, 2017 Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation Harvard Fellow, 2019 Georgia Teacher of the Year Finalist, and 2018 CSU Young Alumni Award. His hobbies include fashion, basketball, reading, playing video games and most recently on July 16th of 2018 Dr. Lawrence was unanimously agreed upon by the MCSD school board to serve as the assistant principal of Aaron Cohn Middle School. and one year into his arrival Aaron Cohn saw record gains in student achievement and school climate culminating in Gov. Kemp awarding the school with the Platinum School Award and being ranked as the 18th best middle school in the state.
